The San Jose Police Department Southern Division is the largest of the department’s four patrol divisions. It encompasses approximately 1029 street miles and is divided into four patrol districts. These districts are named Tom, X-Ray, Yellow and Adam. This division extends north to south from the Capital Expressway to the City of Morgan Hill and is bordered east to west by the Foothills and the town of Los Gatos. Some of this districts attractions include the annual Almaden Valley Art and Wine Festival, the Almaden Quicksilver Park and the Coyote Creek Golf Club.
The Southern Division Community Policing Center is located on the ground floor of the Oakridge Mall Westfield Shopping Town.

The Oakridge Community Policing Station is open Monday through Saturday. Its hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. The department notes these hours are subject to the availability of adequate patrol staffing. The SJPD Southern Division Community Policing Center provides a number of services including the taking of accident and crime reports, traffic citation sign-offs, acceptance of evidence, fingerprinting services for children and the elderly, and accepts the voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition. It also provides neutral ground for court-ordered custody exchanges and serves as a meeting room for neighborhood associations and other non-profit organizations.
The SJPD Southern Division is commanded by Captain Dave Honda. Captain Honda first joined the SJPD in Oct. 1990 and has worked in a number of patrol divisions throughout his tenure. He was promoted to his current rank, Captain, in July 2010.
