San Jose State University (SJSU) is among a handful of public universities located within Santa Clara County. It’s campus is located in downtown San Jose and the main campus encompasses approximately 19 city blocks. The university does not currently have any PhD programs although it does offer 90 different Master’s degrees, 156 Bachelor’s degrees and a total of 19 teaching credentials. It is a popular destination for engineering, psychology and social work students. As it stands, the student population is perhaps the most ethnically diverse in the united States. In addition to having the largest Master’s program foreign student population it also has high enrollments of Asian, Eastern and Hispanic descent.

SJSU may be a city campus but the SJSU Police Department has jurisdiction over it’s buildings, dorms and common areas. It is staffed by a dedicated team of highly trained officers in addition to civilian personnel. They are the first responders to incident reports and work closely with faculty and students to ensure personal safety and protection of property.
This station does not have its own jail. When someone is arrested on the SJSU campus they will be transported to the Main Jail Complex in order to be booked and processed.
