A Santa Clara County Main Jail inmate who was stabbed more than two dozen times is recovering from his injuries, according to a report by ABC7News.com.
The incident happened in late March; two inmates who are believed to have carried out the attack are being charged with attempted murder.
One of the suspect is already facing trial for double murder. Additional information for the other suspect is not yet available.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Deputies have said that the pair used a sharp, self-made knife, which is commonly referred to as a shiv, to carry out the attack.
The identity of the victim has not been released. Santa Clara Jail officials have not indicated how long the man has been in custody, nor have they said what crime he was being charged with.
The reason for the attack also remains unknown. San Jose jail officials have, however, said the entire incident was caught on security cameras.
