Sources within the Santa Clara County Jail have confirmed that a well-known professional football player has been booked at their facility twice in the course of a week.
The man in question is a former player for the San Francisco 49-ers, they said; the suspect was arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of domestic violence. Authorities say that during the time of the initial arrest, the man had allegedly broken down a door to gain entry to a room where his ex-fiance and their baby were hiding.
The ex-defensive end was charged with child endangerment and domestic battery and was released from jail pending bail bonds. Several days later, they said, he was arrested a second time for allegedly violating a restraining order that came as a result of the first arrest.
The suspect has since been released from the NFL team he had been playing for most recently. He is set to appear in court within the next few weeks to have the matter heard by a judge.
