A spokesperson for the Mountain View Police Department has confirmed that officers have arrested two men on suspicion of drug possession.
Authorities say the arrests happened during a routine traffic stop; police say they soon learned that the driver of the car, who has since been identified as 33-year-old Roberto Juarez, had an arrest warrant. While that man was detained, officers questioned the passenger.
A search of the vehicle uncovered what police have described as being a “significant” amount of drugs, including pills and marijuana. Both men were read their rights, handcuffed and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail for booking.
The men were initially held on a no bail bonds hold, which would have prevented them from hiring a Santa Clara County bail bonds company to help get them out of jail. It’s unclear whether the no bail bonds hold has been lifted.
