A 20-year-old man who has been accused of participating in a hit-and-run assault on a San Jose Police Department has been arrested.
The incident happened in late-October, according to a department spokesperson, and it began when the officer pulled a man over for reckless driving. That officer was later hit by that vehicle; two other officers managed to get a partial plate for that vehicle.
That information led them to the home of Arturo Huerta-Cabera.
He was arrested by the SJPD’s violent crimes enforcement team and was transported to the Santa Clara County Main Jail to be booked.
His bail bonds information was not immediately available, but that amount is believed to be significant. Huerta-Cabera is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and felony evading.
Should his family want to have him released on bail bonds, they’d need to contact a Santa Clara County bail bonds agent to begin the application process. The fee to purchase bail bonds in Santa Clara County will be 10% of the defendant’s total bail amount.
