A spokesperson for the Milpitas Police Department has confirmed that two people were taken into custody earlier this month during a traffic stop.
According to a report by Mercury News, the incident began on April 7 when a security guard flagged a squad car down to report that another man had “threatened to kill him.” The victim was concerned about his safety, the report notes, which is why he felt police should be involved. He also gave him a description of the suspect’s vehicle.
Officers were quick to locate that car and proceeded to pull the vehicle over.
They determined that one of the passengers was the same man who had threatened the security guard. A search of the vehicle also uncovered drugs, a digital scale and a loaded gun.
Two men were arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. One has been charged with criminal threats; the other faces drugs and weapons charges.
