If you find yourself where you’ve been arrested and are being taken to the Santa Clara County Main Jail there are several things you will want to keep in mind.
First, you are not required to talk about the details of your case unless you have an attorney present. You will, however, want to answer basic questions when the jailer asks you to provide your full name, date of birth, address and things of that nature.
If a defendant refuses to cooperate with the jailer during the booking process, the jailer will be unable to get them booked and processed. This could delay the Santa Clara bail bonds process by many, many hours!
The best thing to do in this type of situation is to be polite, answer basic questions and to not be confrontational or argumentative with law enforcement and/or corrections officers, since this could make an already bad situation that much worse.
